Combined Carriage Driving also known as a Combined Driving Event or CDE
is an equestrian sport involving a driver on a carriage drawn by a single horse, a pair or a team of four. The sport has three phases: dressage, cross-country marathon and obstacle cone driving, and is most similar to the mounted equestrian sport of eventing which tests the overall condition and versatility of the horse in sport. It is one of the ten international equestrian sport horse disciplines recognized by the FEI, it became an FEI discipline in 1970. At Oak Hill Farm we actively compete in CDE’s all the while developing young prospects into quality driving horses suited for sport and for pleasure. Our resident driving trainer Zenon Gal has had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the great champions of the combined driving sport including Michael Freund, Thorsten Zarembowicz and Chester Weber.
